The Mask

There were 2 masks used for Halloween V. A classic Myers mask by KNB FX, and a small german company, Rudel's, "Brute" Mask. Some scenes were filmed with the original mask until the director stated that the mask looked "too feminine." In order to fix this, KNB FX sculpted a nose and lip appliance and added it to the mask. Eventually, the director put makeup sponges in the mask (as seen in some scenes filmed through Michael's POV) to make the mask less tight on Shanks' face because Akkad thought it looked "too much like his (Don's) skin, not like a mask". This caused the neck of the mask to flare out when worn .

The other mask used is made by a German company by the name of "Rudel" and it's called "Brutalo". This mask's whereabouts are unknown.

We know of at least 4 masks that were pulled for this film.
  • The Hero, last owned by Malek Akkad
  • The River Stunt, location unknown
  • The Second stunt, owned by Don Shanks
  • Unused backup, owned by private collector
